So you have one of our Crystal and Herb Beeswax Intentional Taper Pairs, now what?
These candles that are made with great intention should be burned with intention. Use the following rituals as a guide for burning your new candles.
THIS RITUAL IS NOT FOR TWIN FLAME OR CORD CUTTING
You can find the rituals for those under the guides tab on our homepage.
These candles are hand rolled and sealed with an intention. If you look at the wrapper of your candle, you will see the intention printed beneath the ingredients. Do not throw away your wrapper!! You will need this intention for your ritual.
Begin by cleansing your space and yourself. If you are new to cleansing, you can find the guide on How to Cleanse here.
We recommend burning these candles in the heart of your home, on your altar, or a space where your family gathers (the kitchen table for example). You can use candle holders but we like to just hold the bottom of the candles to a flame over a plate and then press the bottom of the candle into the plate. The hot wax will cool and keep your candles upright. It is important that you perform this ritual supervised and in a firesafe space.
Once you have your candles set up, you can gather offerings that will enhance your intention, carry it to the ethers and ancestors, and that will be infused with the magic of your intention. Here are some offering examples for each candle set, you can use as many or as little as feels right:
Heart Healing: Rose Quartz, Roses (fresh roses or dried petals in an offering bowl), a letter to your younger self that needs healing, a small dish of almond oil or olive oil, bowl of Red Salt.
Blessings: Quartz, Frankincense and Myrrh, photos of your ancestors or your guides, a loaf of bread (doesn't have to be homemade!), Black Tourmaline, bowl of Black Salt.
Abundance: a green crystal such as Green Aventurine, Green Tourmaline, or Malachite. A Citrine Crystal, $Money$, Quartz, you business card or a piece of your business or craft.
Ceremony: Selenite, Labradorite, bowl of Dead Sea Salt, list of goals for the near future and the far future, a bowl of Pink Himalayan Salt.
Divination: a Divination Tool (pendulum, tarot deck, runes, etc.), cup of Mugwort Tea, Amethyst, photos of Guides or Deities.
Now that you have your candles set up, and your offerings gathered around your candles (in anyway that feels right to you) it is time to take a seat and just sit with your candles a moment. Take a deep breath and clear your mind of distractions.
Once you feel present and clear, ignite your candles.
As your candles burn, stare into the flames. It is now a time to sit still, meditate, and think of the healing you would like to have happen, what you are trying to attract, what you are trying to clear and banish. Just be present with your candles and your intentions for 10 or 15 minutes. As you think of your intentions, notice how the flames react to your energy.
When you have finished sitting with your dreams, intentions, offerings, and candles, it is time to recite the intention on the wrapper of the candles to complete the ritual.
Let the candles burn, do not blow them out! Let them burn the whole way down. When your candles have finished burning, scape the wax into a small plastic bag and throw it away in the garbage bin outside. Take your offerings and keep them in a sacred space, carry them with you, or use them! If you have offered food, eat it or cook with it. Keep larger crystals on your altar and smaller crystals can be carried with you. Herbs and flowers can be kept on your altar until dried - once dried you can send it back to the Earth by sprinkling them outside.
You can burn these candles anytime that feels right to you. But if you are like us and follow the energy of the Moon, here are the best times to burn each candle based on the phases of the Moon:
Heart Healing: Third Quarter Moon or the New Moon
Ceremony: Waxing Crescent
Divination: Full Moon
Abundance: Waxing Crescent, New Moon
Blessings: Waning Gibbous
As always, we are here to answer any questions! Feel free to send us a message and we will get back to you.
Why did you choose the crystals you did for each type of candle?
I'm especially curious about the reason behind pyrite for the cord-cutting candles, but I'm fascinated by these and would like to understand them all!
